@tomie Dev made a great (for once in a decade) video on the topic, and his explanation is, that the cloth used for the game were copyrighted, and expected to be changed before release. So, once people got attached to them, that was the moment shit hit the fan, since the usual "just don't make it too obvious" changes were noticed and considered to be the censorship.
And obviously, they couldn't just admit that was the case to avoid the blame, because they would admit to using these brands in game dev process, throwing them straight into more legal trouble.
@LukeAlmighty I don't buy this story for a second, they could easily replace it with something even more tacky but deliberately chose to draw the players' ire, including in their own batshit insane home market? nuh-uh

Well, think whatever you want, but I believe that story. It fits perfectly.
Is the game mid? sure. But, it makes the correct push towards the principle of beauty, and that is not something I can ignore. Also, the world building seems wholesome.
