Oh... muh autistic people cannot read body language...

NTs literally ask me if I want to pay with the card, WHILE I HAVE A CARD ALREADY IN MY HAND!!!

@LukeAlmighty I imagine the question is a formality or automatic action. Just nod or affirm verbally.

@Jens_Rasmussen
Obviously, but these affirmations do add up over time.

Just wanted to micro-rant.

@Jens_Rasmussen
I know this is a me problem, but at some point, I have to post my thoughts on it.

I am not non verbal. I am far from it. But there are some things, that just don't have to be verbal in the first place. For instance, imagine this:

A cashier is on a phone talking to her friend. I don't want to bother her, so I look at her signaling, that I don't want to bother. I do a thumb up etc. All to say, that the payment was good etc. I do not want her to ruin her discussion on the phone. YET STILL, she says "THANK YOU, COME AGAIN" at full volume. Why ignore all the work I've put into telling her it's ok to keep talking on the phone? It just makes the entire situation awkward.

Back when I worked in such a role, they told me if I didn't say the magic words a secret shopper could come in and get me fired.

I could imagine some people saying the thing regardless of the appropriateness.

@sj_zero
That's the part that pushes it from sad to "We've got a city to burn"

@sj_zero
And my point was just, that NTs seriously need to verbalize everything, and somehow don't feel the energy it takes to confirm pointless shit.

@LukeAlmighty @sj_zero

I'm not confirmed 100% but I'm also a woman, but it's so traumatic to be obviously not NT even at the workplace. It's like damn, it never ends. The constant performance :acat_screamangry:
@LukeAlmighty we're on autopilot and we hate you, specifically
@LukeAlmighty @pwm @phnt Phnt understands. We are all here together. We need to watch out for eachother

@pwm @phnt @graf
> says he's on autopilot
> still needs everyone around him to navigate him through that repetitive work
