just got to watching Supergirl (2026)
it was... fine
not really my cup of tea, because I prefer not to mix my space adventures with capeshit, but it was definitely not the complete and utter failure the internet tried to portray this movie as
so, we got the second Supergirl movie hated for no good reason, because the general public can't stand anything else than the usual slop: if the main character was some kind of space Wolverine, this movie would be lauded as the "dark and gritty masterpiece about how it's hard to be a man who lost everything"
also the OG comic was penned by Tom King which automatically means it got hated by nerds unable to comprehend it (odd how they praise Nolan (or used to praise Nolan, lol) on the same grounds)
I haven't read it yet, but I just know it
@matana
Glad you liked the movie.
That being said, I think you have already forgotten, that this movie was heavily marketed with the "This movie is not for you chuds" message. And who am I to disagree with the authors?
Damn, the trailer literally began with a dog pissing on the news of Superman's heorism. That isn't random imagery. So, how should I have guessed it could be an enjoyable movie, when the marketing team, people whose entire and only job is to tell me so, decided to do the opposite?
@matana
Sure, thia kind of hatred is everywhere, but I've made a conscious decision to limit the amount of pointless political stress in my life.
Yeah, we might life in this world with a bunch of evil psychopaths, but not interacting with their temper tantrums does help me to lower the blood pressure at least.
