Here is the issue.
There is a relatively conservative "communist party", that isn't even that extreme, but it doesn't play well with the EU. And the gang wants to get rid of them, therefore the law was introduced.

There is also a huge "hatred" towards "communism" from the mainstream NPC programming, but that one is only propagated towards Russia and their regime. But, when you ask an average Commie hating progressive what they do support, not only will they recite commie manifesto word for word... Not only will they admit they do want what Carl Marx wanted. They will even call it communism.

It's the most hilarious cognitive disonance of local politics.
