Why are so many math teachers such an idiots? I mean, I get it you can throw 20 different letters and special names for each of them, but if you forget to mention that they mean to the topic you are teaching, then you are no longer teaching, but only showing how a calculator works.

I know how calculator works, and I know how to write numbers into a formula but that means NOTHING when teaching the topic.

There is no way you can prove me otherwise, but if you want, I can at least explain myself.

Imagine there was some important factor that would have an incredibly important effect on your life. Let's call that factor IQ. Every kid nowadays knows their IQ, so they do know how smart are they? Right? Well no.

IQ means nothing but how smart are you compared to the rest of the society. If only we had a way of representing this incredible important fact in a way that even slightly dumb people would understand. One in x? That is good, but gets real hard to represent average numbers. Percentage? That would be great wouldn't it? But no. I have a better idea. HOW ABOUT NORMAL DISTRIBUTION?

Ok... For those of you who aren't studying statistics right now, let's imagine a doctor said to you, that your IQ is 135. That sounds good doesn't it? you are 1/3 smarter than your 100 IQ sister. right?

Well, you only have to find out, that average is 100 (most people know that), and standard deviation is 15 (most people have no idea what that even means). Then you divide the difference between your IQ and the average by standard deviation to get a meaningless number. THEN you have to do a math magic or look up in tables, that factor of 2,3 means 0,01072 from the end, meaning you are 48,928% above the average intelligence. YOU ARE FUCKING SPECIAL.

But that is just the beginning. Since people have no idea that IQ is defined by this mathematical function, they keep on looking at that strange graph mesmerized at the "clumping in the middle" and "rare outliers". The problem is, there is no absolute way of measuring the raw power of your brain. You have no idea, what is the breaking point, or if the intelligence differences do truly scale linearly, quadratically. We have no idea. The graphs they keep showing with the hill is a hill by definition. They made it so it cannot be any other way.

I do not believe in any "jewish conspiracy" or "reptilian overlords", but it's shit like this that makes you truly realize that either you are so beyond the average ape that they will never catch up, or there is something seriously rotten that in our society that keeps manufacturing lies on purpose. And I am not talking about media. This has to be some instinct that keeps pushing people to run away from the truth...

If you were to make a proper search filter for videos by length, how would you do it?

You can make sliders. Why not. It would allow you to find by length in any way you want.

In other words, it is a complex problem to make properly. So, how would you expect a multi-billion company to solve this important problem?

I know nobody here cares at all, but here is a sneak peek of what I decided to work on next:

Day 7 of trying not to be a total piece of shit.

I made a second short animation (gun firing), and was able to connect it to the first one through NLA editor

I separated pieces of gun into seperate models and made a hierarchy, that allows connecting animations and connecting to another sceleton

Both animations still look like shit.

But it is starting to look like something, that could be useful in 2 years.
