"Historically, tyranny was a relatively localized phenomena"

No, it was not. It is tought that way, so even kids can understand it, but tyranny as a system can only work as long as there are many individual cells/levels that all do benefit from it's continuation.

All it takes to kill a tyrannical king is one arrow/drink/explosion. A tyran cannot control will of others, but he can make it beneficial to others to defend him and supress others.

Damn...

Orwell did have a point with the newspeak, but he wasn't able to explain it to masses.

Whem you read 'war is piece', ypu just do not gasp the true scale if the terror in being unable to speak your mind in understandable terms.

@unspinthespin@noagendasocial.com it means, that when soldiers are guarding one place, they cannot be guarding another one at the same time.

Is it wrong, that when I see this picture, my first thought is:

Area 51 is unguarded. It's now or never.

One question though...

Why didn't they put as much work into ensuring the election itself was safe?

It's not like it could have prevented a civil war or anything...

Yes, but it still takes a ton of courage to realize, that most centrist form opinion by:
I heard this from a friend, I didn't think about it enough to disagree.

@rasterman @Mytsy Centrists are willfully politically ignorant people.
I was a right-leaning-Centrist a long time ago, I know how a Centrist thinks.

@TheMadPirate @Mytsy I just had an epiphany!

A centrist will say that the left is right in some things, and the right is right in some things; but he's the enlightened one for taking only the good parts of each.

But centrists today are leftist, in practise, considering most of the things they support are informed by years of leftists moving the Overton window towards their side.

And 70 years ago, a centrist was right wing, in practise, because the Overton window was leaning towards the right.

Bro...

Centrists don't even exist.
