I seriously don't understand the sour grapes psychology. I used to think, that it's a fucking cope about cope, but no... It's real. Some people seriously cannot mentally handle the thought of someone else doing great.

Because it teaches people to gate keep. If you were told openly, that you are not welcome to LGBT friendly spaces, even the dumbest centroid can realize, that it means, that the same thing will be repeated with his job, family, or literally any other space, that gets infected.
