You're the one who asked why people hated journalists and now you're missing your own damn point. FOCUS ON THE QUESTION YOU ASKED FOR FUCKS SAKE. ITS YOUR ISSUE. The point isn't what the answer could be, it's that there is an obvious incongruity here that ANYONE could pick up on and journalists spent lots of time obfuscating and whipping people up into a frenzy about it.

If you don't care about even a single one of those topics, I am sure some of them are probably out of your area of expertise and thus not something that bothers you, but if you cannot find a single one of them important then you literally CANNOT understand why people might dislike journos. When journalists start writing about something you understand deeply and are intimately familiar with and feel strongly about, you will understand that hatred.

Then, you will forget about it. I believe they called it the Gell-Mann Amnesia effect. You need a couple of overlaps of their awful writing with fields you care about to really shock you out of it.

Since you are ACTUALLY serious apparently I will give you a serious answer:

At best, at absolute best at this wing of the internet, like the most positive take you can get out of people here is that journalists were so incurious that they joked about Epstein didn't kill himself and then not a single one of them proceeded to actually ask questions about who DID kill him, despite it being their ostensible jobs. So the NICEST thing anyone here will say about a journo is that they are complicit.

The majority of folks in poast and the surrounding sphere are "previously banned by twitter for disagreeing strongly, some by sheer anger but mostly by random bots triggering ban alerts with no chance of appeal" so NOBODY here trusts anyone in the system to advocate for them because nobody has for over 10 years. We watched journalists say "learn to code" and then when they got laid off, literally wrote pieces about how them being told "learn to code" is violent hate speech and twitter banned people for hate speech for saying learn to code.

Going further down, almost everyone here knows a guy who knows a guy who was doxxxxxxxxed or had his dox perpetuated by a journalist.

We watched gamergate, pizzagate, the laptop issue with Biden's kid, every single one of these things showing crystal clear demarcation lines: Even journos on "our side" HATE us and at absolute best are playing Washington Generals to the big media's Harlem Globetrotters.

And this is just us nazis, right wingers, racists, whatever have you. The LGBTQIAAP+ liberal half of this site hates them just as much and thinks they are "state capitalists." Don't ask me why, journos will water carry for those folks every day of the week and twice on Sundays but I'm sure there's a faction there that thinks they have a good reason.

There is absolutely nobody on Fedi who doesn't hate journos with a pure hatred going back years outside of maybe a few normie instances.
