My mom was so angry at me selecting a good channel to watch, that she told me to "Just select this one", while I was literally on the recitation of Bible.

1) Yes, it is a question, that was outright written in an aggressive language. It is important to be inclusive in your language, and that word is seriously dehumanizing.
