Life hack

Whenever a bureaucrat tells you that something cannot be done, leave, and come tomorow to a different bureaucrat.

Half of them don't know what they can do, and half of the rest don't care to help you.

I have been meeting with bureaucrats only a few times in my life, but this was the solution 80 fucking percent of the time.

@protecttruth > While many of us have been carrying about our business

Gosh, I'd like to, but you fucking cultists shut down my wife's business for two God damned years.

So fuck you, you want a fight, bring friends and stack the fuck up.

@protecttruth not a MAGA anything, but surely I hope you understand the difference between "science" and "scientism".

The flip-flopping on whether masks were helpful, or of those infected could be reinfected, or if vaccines would prevent infection (vs reduce severity of disease), or if vaccines could stop spread of infection, or if social gatherings were allowed... None of that was based on "science. "Science" was used as the basis to justify any authoritarian policy.

You think this is abuse?

I would like you to consider the following: that this is not harassment or unwarranted cruelty, but you are getting extremely honest feedback for the first time in your life.

I have interacted with meat bags that have been more retarded. Work with a fair number.

"We have created an alphabet group LGBTABCD+ group which is everyone but straight people to display our inclusion of everyone."

"So we created a group that specifically excludes a group of people to be inclusive of everyone?"

"Yes, that is how that works"
-----
"You can't have a political, sexual, or religious club"

"Pride groups are all 3 by definition"

@meowski @average_random_joe @billstclair @protecttruth NO NO NO you don't understand!

It's like how Germany elected a bunch of "Greens" to the government. They said "There's too much pollution! It's killing the world!!" and then they shut down all the power plants. Some people (nazis, probably) asked "Wait what? How are we going to keep the lights on?" and the Greens (European Intellectuals, always up for a laugh at stupid Americans) said "Imports, stupid! Pollution doesn't count if we can't see it!!" And everyone lived happily ever after and there were no drawbacks whatsoever to getting all of their gas from Russia.

I agree. The interesting problem is that you cannot really force experience on yourself just by making your life difficult. At least I don't think you can generally move the difficulty slider up a notch yourself to get more XP; maybe you can engineer it up to a point but it feels somehow like setting the clock 5 minutes back to "wake up 5 minutes early".

Like when parents try to toughen up children by placing hurdles in their way, at the right difficulty to be overcome with appropriate effort. It's training for the real thing.

This is why I oriented myself towards danger as opposed to experience, the latter being an outcome of the former.

I suspect I'm getting into philosophical territory I can't quite handle here. I believe we in fact are saying more or less the same thing.
