I actually love reading about the autism problems on Instagram. You will never understand just how malformed this dumb world is, until you can actually share your problems.
> So many things are asked, and answered, but totally missed. I messed up my shoulder. Went to the doctor. Dr says, how high can you lift your arm?
I paused. “How high can I lift my arm, or how can I lift my arm until it HURTS?”
And he blinked at me. “Why would you lift it last when it hurts?”
Because I am answering your question.
He sat there, gobsmacked, then put his head in his hands. “I’ve been asking the wrong questions.”
I have NEVER seen a doctor admit that before.
> When I attempted to get "a diagnosis" my provider literally declined to give me a diagnosis because "the client answered questions in a manner consistent with autism, however the observer largely scored the client in the normal range."
Never considered that the observer was an older family member who was likely an equally autistic person to whom I seemed perfectly "normal." 🤦♀️
Thanks Doc.
>thank you for this example. I just understood an interaction I had with a doctor YEARS ago. I had some pains which we later found out was a dislocated disc. She asked me to lay down then made me move my legs. She was like "well if none of this hurts" and I answered "it hurts to lie here". So she referred me but seemed like it was no big deal, so I was like "I think this is not a big deal even tho it feels like my legs is being electrocuted if I bend over". Turns out a nerve was being squeezed, which a physio eventually found out by testing my (at that point) nonexistent reflexes in that side. Asked me why the doc did not test me, I had no idea. BUT - she wanted me to say that it hurt like hell to do what she asked, not grit my teeth and hold back the tears. When I did not immediately refuse to do the hurtful thing, she assumed it did not hurt 🤦
I hate art...
Because, you post about it the moment it is done. But your feelings on it the day it's done is completely unrelated to how much you like it a week later.
Once your emotions disconnect from the process, and see only the product, you will have a completely different opinion. And it's just so weird.
@YeetLibs I will stump for the fubuki as a hard worker
She pulled off the touhou song unaccompanied which is impressive
