I do think this is very funny.
That the furry fandom is having a civil war where the conservative furry are wrestling power away from the liberals and winning XD
@souldessin indeed
@Mr_NutterButter good
As somebody who is in said fandom from the inside point of view, it's been a microcosm of the general world on the outside. There's been a lot of strife and just for the most part I've been keeping my head down and not attracting attention to myself because I know the moment conventions started having these ribbons with name tags of punching a Nazi, around that time I knew it was all going downhill around 2018.
It's going to be interesting to see which side is the violent one, how con organizers will handle it and whether there's then a shake-up in conventions the way there has been in the media. It might be time that the fandom starts to draw a line at the violence, given how many of the same violent people are often the same ones running them sometimes.
@Dan_Ramos
You would be surprised the convention that's out near me at the GSR which is BLFC. They took a hard stance with COVID and ostracized a lot of good people out here and it also drove a lot of friends that I had over the edge. One in particular being my ex that got that way stating that everybody who doesn't take the vaccine should die a horrible death.
It's been a rough life.
@Mr_NutterButter
Oh, I know. I've seen it too.
@Dan_Ramos
Personally, I just want to make cool shit, bring it to conventions, and share a good time with everybody, but this overall microcosm of just the world in general that's taken over because of the severe left mindset that exists, just means that I'm not able to do that.
@Mr_NutterButter
Yep. I'm running into similar friction even just going back to the furry MUCKs online and I've mentioned it, more than once, that I'm not there to have RL politics dragged in here just to hear the fukkin lefties wailing like banshees every fucking day. Left, right or otherwise, I'm not there to hear about RL politics. Fuck off. I usually just go off to other rooms or just end up sitting in my home and paging around. I might stop going there again, at this rate.
@Dan_Ramos @azurusnova yeah a lot of communities I'm also part of have people like that mainly community leaders who will ostracize you if you even speak up against their political ideology.
It feels like living in the USSR knowing that they'll kill you any day now if you do wrong think.
@Mr_NutterButter
I used to love helping out in the local convention out here, working with the stage crew and building stuff that I never thought I would even have the chance of even getting to touch, let alone see how it goes together.

I even got help out on the USS Hornet, which was probably the most unique site I've ever had to do.
@azurusnova @Dan_Ramos That's super rad
@Mr_NutterButter
Without context, that is a very funny statement.
