@Mr_NutterButter it's shit isn't it? I bet it's shit. Everything they have released after the original series sucks ass for one reason or another.
@beardalaxy Just watched the entire movie. Art direction was absolutely beautiful and some of the best animation I've seen out of the West in an extremely long time.
Voice acting was flat at times but passable for most of the movie.
Plotline was rushed could have used an extra 30 minutes to another hour but overall was enjoyable to watch.
Only one cringe part of the movie and it lasts less than 30 seconds as a throwaway joke.
Indefinitely better than legend of Korra in almost every way, they've definitely learned but they still have a tendency towards it. If I had to be brutally honest 7/10 movie.
As a personal fan of the franchise they gave enough and tasteful fan service that it's an easy 8/10 to 9/10 for me. Fight scenes were absolutely beautiful and intense. And there seems to be no lore breaking or contradictions, it's all nicely wrapped up.
Only part I didn't like was the idea that the entire movie was based around the spirit world powers again which I think is the weakest part of the entire Avatar universe and storytelling plotlines.
@beardalaxy This one's animated. And they're planning on making a trilogy of three animated movies where they get gradually older with each movie. He's currently 24 in this movie. Next one he will be 32, then 50.
The live-action movie you saw and Netflix adaptation the original creators didn't want at all and had no influence on Nickelodeon simply sold the rights to those directors and companies. This movie is from the original creators.
@Mr_NutterButter yeah the original creators also made korra.
@Mr_NutterButter also "original creators" is misleading because they haven't had aaron ehasz since the original series, who was the head writer.
@beardalaxy you can tell because it's lacking
@Mr_NutterButter they're making another one??
