The voice actress turns out to be a conservative, and the Steven Universe fandom, AKA the usual suspects on Twitter, are attacking her for her very basic bitch views of "countries should probably have borders or something" and other such wrong-think.
As for who this is for...
My guess is that it's rage-bait for Steven Universe fans.
They're seething pretty bad right now.
@coded_artist @Shadowbroker2135 @kybermace Steven universe fans are the most autistic and extremely liberal fandom almost other than undertale.
So having one of the main cast characters morally opposed them when she's essential to the story makes them see rage beyond anything.
Also the only reason this was found out is because people decided to see who she followed and I believe Instagram or something and reveal that she may have some slight right leaning views. She never even announced anything or said anything everyone just assumed.
