What you’re referring to as pedophilia, is in fact, statutory rape, or as I’ve recently taken to calling it, unconsentable sexual action . Pedophilia is not a crime unto itself, but rather one of the various possible causes of committing the crime of statutory rape. Through a peculiar turn of events, the crime which is committed by having sex with a person under the age of consent is often called “pedophilia”, and many of its users are not aware that pedophilia is a psychiatric disorder, not a legal term. There really is pedophilia, and some of the people committing the crime have it, but it is a psychiatric disorder. Pedophilia might be the core cause of it: the disorder in the human mind that causes the person to feel sexual arousal towards prepubescent children. The pedophilia is common though not essential to commit the crime, but not dangerous itself; it’s the crime of statutory rape that offenders can be charged for. All the so-called “pedophilia” crimes are really crimes of statutory rape.
