Is that a bad thing? If I'm in a conversation with someone else, and I don't have anything else to add to the discussion, I'll use a favorite/like as a way to say "I saw what you said and I agree/like it, but I don't have anything else to add".

pretty much the same for me, and a good chunk of fedi from my experience
I tend to also use it as a "i've seen this, tho my reply might take a while, i'm not ignoring you whilst i write this"
although ofc sometimes i end up just giving a star and having a short reply, thats moreso out of habit at this point lol
