@LukeAlmighty I haven't played the series, but I've seen clips of Wilds and older titles from streamers. And Wilds looks horrible by comparison.
I think part of it might be that the previous games weren't afraid of vibrant colors, while Wilds looks like it reverted to 2006-2008 post-processing filters, a time when every game had a sickly brown color added to it.
Another part of it is probably the stupid TXAA used in everything now. Wilds looks blurry, previous titles looked sharp.
@LukeAlmighty I didn't pay much attention to Wilds. Saw a few screenshots from you, but it didn't really hit me until I saw proper footage. It reminded me of Fallout New Vegas, and not in a good way. Though, if I were to make a side by side comparison, I bet New Vegas would still look better.
I like how older MH titles look, and I always though "maybe I'll play one of these games some day, cause it looks fun". But Wilds instantly made me "nope". I'm at "maybe I'll play one of the older games someday, but not Wilds".
@alyx
The sharpness is a total deal breaker for me. But the art direction oberall is something, that is bad beyond my understanding.
