Apparently Boruto gets possessed at some point. I suddenly want to watch this.
@Xalef
Beyond it's time. And all if it is packaged in a parody song basically. There's a 10 second segment in which it describes a fictional Romanian animal (that they made up for the song) as if it's a news report. Back in the day it was just a silly and funny song. But seeing how politics evolved since then, the underlying message only became stronger.
Ah, fuck it... the TL;DR is that this song was made when Romania wanted to get into NATO and EU, and the song is basically a call to nationalism/patriotism, to refuse NATO and EU and embrace our national identity. It envisions a future when, because we've rejected outside influence, we're better than EU countries, and now EU wants to join Romania, and we end up paying American's depth towards Iraq and Somalia.
There's so much meaning behind this song, and it's aged so incredibly well, that I could write the longest post yet. But I won't cause I'm too lazy.
If you want, the lyrics are displayed in the chyron. You can type them in Google Translate. Enjoy the song!
Just realized that in a very popular Romanian song, the female artist was complaining she wasn't getting enough sex, only once a month, and even then she had to rape the guy (she doesn't say it directly, but strongly insinuates it). A bit spicy if you ask me...
@ew
Sorry to disappoint, but that will never happen.
Early Romanian pop music went from being fun and entertaining, to embarrassing a decade later, when we started to realize how bad it was, and now it's cringe, but in a funny/hilarious way.
>context: talking about being at the beach
"s-a spart conducta de fete"
"the girl pipeline broke".
Just found one hell of a nostalgia rabbit hole... Haven't heard these shitty early post-revolution Romanian pop songs since... pretty much since they released.
What's the "youth anthem" of your generation? That song that's all about being young, having fun, enjoying life with friends, and all of that; that was unofficially adopted by your generation as THE song that represents them, and that ALWAYS has to be played at any party, and that is likely to by played even at a 50 years highschool reunion.
For my generation, this is that song:

For people about 5-10 years older than me, it's this:

Stay strong, you'll get through this tough period, one day at a time. No matter how bad today might be, you'll soon end your shift and find yourself comfortable at home again, maybe watching a relaxing movie in warm blankets. ![]()
