98 degrees is gonna be the air temperature. The ground temperature, especially for the dark asphalt of a tarmac, will be much higher. I've seen it happen in my own town, when the air temperature go over 100 Fahrenheit, the asphalt in the roads that are constantly exposed to the sun do begin to soften/melt. And something tells me a UK runway will in fact be darker than my dusty town roads, so they'll absorb even more heat.

I remember learning about declawing several years ago, and it made me feel sick and actually physically cringe.

If you really can't be bothered to trim your cat's claws, a decent alternative are claw caps. But even those shouldn't be needed. Just learn to trim its claws by yourself, and have adequate scratch posts to satisfy its instinctual need to sharpen it's claws on something.

Depends on the carpet. If it doesn't have a proper scratch post on which to sharpen it's claws, it will use anything it can, including carpets or rugs, and it may damage them.

And it's also beyond cruel. The landlord should go fuck himself for demanding something like that.
Also, this is the first time I've ever heard of defanging for a cat (or a pet in general). There has to be some kind of mistake there, as I simply don't see how a cat's bite could constitute a serious enough issue to where you need to eliminate it's most important teeth.

It's things like this that tell me Twitter has completely butchered whatever algorithm they made that drives their trending topics. I promise you GamerGate isn't actually trending right now, this is a case of the algorithm glitching like crazy, like it did with Kyle Rittenhouse yesterday.
