Just remembered an argument I had with my uncle back in 2020. I was telling him you can't justify forcefully placing somebody in quarantine because "it's for the greater good", that such justifications are no different from what a tyrant would say.

I'm honestly proud that I am able to keep my ground and pull the same argument whenever anybody, on any political side, does the "but I'm fighting for the greater good, cause my enemies are tyrants, so I'm allowed to do this immoral thing".

What you say:
"The truckers do, in fact, need to win. They need to win because if they don't they are all arrested then they will have their lives arbitrarily ruined to satisfy the childish temper tantrums of the bureaucrats whose enforcers are suppressing them on the streets as we speak, and lying about their actions in the field on social media, whilst being cheered by masses of evil TV watching monsters."

What I hear:
"The Aryan Germans do, in fact, need to win. They need to win because if they don't they are all arrested then they will have their lives arbitrarily ruined to satisfy the childish temper tantrums of the Jews whose enforcers are suppressing them on the streets as we speak, and lying about their actions in the field on social media, whilst being cheered by masses of evil TV watching Jewish monsters."

The real monsters are the ones that are able to so easily justify immoral actions.

@alyx i don't think people actually want to be free. they routinely choose to wear shackles and once they're chained up to the wall realize it was a mistake. there are many copes they come up with for this too.

one of these was how everyone in the industry gripes about Adobe's vig but nobody actually did anything about it. they could just accept a momentary loss of productivity to all mass cancel their accounts and buy Serif, or collectively pool funds to just buy out Serif and open it, or just take the money and contract professionals to fix up Krita, but they all keep slapping the irons on and lining up to master adobe because that reward desert is scary.

Fedi convinced me to stop giving a crap about the truckers. You don't care about them, their families, their rights... you care about using them to overthrow governments and taking that power for yourselves.

You are not some great liberators. You are just the next round of oppressors, and I'm not interested in playing this game.

Romanians have a saying: he who today steals an egg, tomorrow will steal a bull.

Today you convince yourself that using children for propaganda is okay, because you cause is just, you are fighting a tyrant force like no other.
Tomorrow you convince yourself that punching a police officer is just, because you can't keep letting them trample over you, and it's time to fight back.
The day after that you convince yourself that burning cop cars is justified. After that you start burning their buildings.

How many days of convincing yourself you're doing the wrong actions for the right reasons until you become the tyrant you once fought against?

If you are willing to abandon your morals that fast to overthrow even the worst dictator, you have already been corrupted as a human being, and are on your way to be a dictator yourself.

I know this is probably boomer energy, but I don't really get the Tony Stark meme format. Is he supposed to be an alternative to scumbag Steve? I don't really get what's his deal is supposed to be.

So, Wayforward did something great with River City Girls Zero, they included 2 translations. One "localized", one labeled "Literal". Pretty much the best of both worlds and also gives something new to try on replays

But of course, the localizationfags are mad as fuck at it for no reasons whatsoever. If you didn't already know that these people are the enemies of Japanese games and fans that wants an accurate translation, that they should not be anywhere near it, now you know

@EmptyBanks
I preffer this version... Still only 5 words, And the message is the same, but the execution is perfect.
