@matrix The "scientist" cited in this is a longtime pro-pedo activist. They're not outright defending it yet but this kind of article is absolutely intended to reduce the stigma around pedophilia to advance it as a political agenda. Salon floated a trial balloon back in 2015, it backfired badly, so it was shelved for a while. This is the same shit. Obviously people get insanely emotional about this topic and that can interfere with reasonable arguments, but people who've been closely observing this stuff for a while pick up on the patterns of behavior of these types.
@matrix NOMAP rhetoric leads to YESMAP rhetoric. USA Today was at one point the blandest, most normie-friendly mainstream outlet imaginable, so it's very concerning that we've progressed to such a point where they're the ones floating trial balloons as opposed to Salon.

@ArdanianRight @matrix They're literally just pointing out a normal psychological fact because people are so retarded around the whole concept (like now), as did the salon article. This isn't actually something bold or niche

>The term pedophile is commonly used by the public to describe all child sexual abuse offenders.[8][12] This usage is considered problematic by researchers, because many child molesters do not have a strong sexual interest in prepubescent children, and are consequently not pedophiles.[11][12][25]

And remember the media stigmatised it in the first place. The US AOC was 7-12 in 1880 and similar in every western country. It's historically universally normal

@ArdanianRight @matrix Oh, and this
>Some pedophiles do not molest children.[2] Little is known about this population because most studies of pedophilia use criminal or clinical samples, which may not be representative of pedophiles in general.[109]
