@LukeAlmighty that's not really it, though. The divorce rate was already really high and worsening before social media was prevalent. Divorced parents of people my age either never used social media or definitely do not use it in the same way we do... Pretty much just use it for staying in contact with friends and family, tracking events and such, or selling stuff.
My parents had already each been through a divorce before they met each other. My grandparents on my dad's side had both been divorced before they met each other.
I think social media could contribute to it getting worse since the maybe the mid 2010s but it was already horrible to begin with.

Of course the "happy snapshots efect" does exist, but I just wrote my post, because after the liberals were destroying the social order for half a century, the birth control was created, women have been pushed to see men as enemies, and now, when the results cannot be ignored anymore, they are going to blame literally anything but their own actions.
