lol apparently the sims 5 playtest leaked, wanna know how?

using denuvo. literally using anti-piracy to leak a game. fucking golden.

@beardalaxy They better bring back the open-world, drivable cars, and everything else they cut from previous games.

@xianc78 i hope so too. sims 4 actually runs better than sims 3 does because it's not open world lol, so i think that may be why they did it. but maybe they'd be able to do it these days.

@beardalaxy IIRC, there were many different prototypes for The Sims 4. I think the one that became the actual game was supposed to be a spinoff (apparently a spiritual successor to The Sims Online) but they decided to just use that for the basis of TS4 which explains the lack of open world and drivable cars.

They could probably bring it back (while also getting rid of the rabbit holes in TS3) since computers have become much powerful, but this is The Sims we are talking about. I hate to say it, but the audience is mostly teenage and young adult girls who probably have a Mac or some shitty laptop. They do have to take that into account.

@xianc78 macs are actually pretty powerful, they just aren't utilized very well and apple likes to fuck developers a lot by just completely deprecating backends. watched DF's video about resi8 running on mac and it was pretty cool.

i honestly liked the rabbit hole stuff in sims 3 because it gave me a bit of time to focus on other sims. when i send sims somewhere and they are left to their own devices i feel like i have to babysit them otherwise they're gonna' shit themselves xD the sims AI has never been very good.

i probably won't end up playing sims 5 with paralives coming out, though. it'll probably have more content on launch. only thing that would get me to play sims 5 is if it had online multiplayer somehow, that would be kind of cool.
