My laptop has been having trouble turning on lately, and oddly enough I think it has something to do with CD drive. If I jiggle it around before I boot up, it turns on every time.
@xianc78 mine is on year 4. Bought it from a local guy who buys old laptops in bulk from schools and fixes them up. It's done pretty well for me so far, all things considered.
@beardalaxy Install Linux.
@HSTG has nothing to do with the OS. It won't actually get to the bios.
@beardalaxy Ouch, do you know hot to update the bios?
@HSTG yeah I do, I'm gonna give that a shot later.
@beardalaxy Don't lose power while updating. If you do, the motherboard is done.
@beardalaxy I can never have a laptop that lasts me more than two years. Granted I used them way too much. I currently don't have a desktop PC.
