@ChristiJunior @LukeAlmighty @beardalaxy I stopped trying to make sense and consistency of Harry Potter a long ago, it's just a franchise for kids that's centered around school and the entire worldbuilding is subordinate to the school. simple as that
that being said, the Prisoner of Azkaban is still probably the Harry Potter movie I remember the most fondly. deranged yet comfy

@LukeAlmighty @grips @ChristiJunior i haven't seen harry potter since the last movie came out. i really don't remember which one was my favorite or anything. i read all the books too. those memories are stored so far back in my mind that i can't actually recall much of what happens in the series without someone else bringing it up first. i know i liked it a lot as a kid and a young teenager, but as soon as the movie series ended it completely faded away into obscurity for me and i lost interest entirely.

over the years i have dug around a little bit in the lore and such, and yeah, it's definitely just a series made for kids without a whole lot of thought put into the way the world works..... a lot of that came waaaay later when jk rowling would just make up shit like a spell to get rid of feces or whatever. or dumbledore being gay.

as far as fantasy series go that i have personally experienced, i think zelda is the most intriguing lore-wise (even though it was largely made up on the fly and had no real connection until wind waker). lord of the rings is also very meticulously created and i can appreciate the hell out of that.
