@matana idk really anything about the game except the diversity shit and that NPCs don't react when you chuck spells around or even directly at them. And my roommates who are Harry Potter fans are really loving it but I'm not surprised by that.

I brought up the "black magic without wand casting thing" and they told me that in one of the movies there is a random dude in the background of Hogsmeade moving a spoon around in his tea without a wand. So people think he's some super powerful wizard or something. Africans being able to cast magic without a wand but being better with one is totally validated because of that.

@matana I'm glad they are enjoying the game they bought but I hate this shit where people are super willing to excuse forced diversity stuff just because they think it's done tastefully. Nevermind the lore or the original material.

Like "oh the black actors in Lord of the Rings/oh the actress for Sarah in HBO last of us play their parts so well and never bring up racial issues!"

Yeah, except the original characters weren't fucking black or the lore doesn't support that. I'm totally fine with there being black characters when they were originally created for the reason and they aren't shoehorned into a setting where they just wouldn't exist. If you flip the races around everyone would be mega pissed, and that should make it clear what biases there are and why it's toxic.
