@LukeAlmighty trying to explain to my friend that i was a liberal until i got shadowbanned from the school newspaper and grilled by a teacher for saying a trans girl should try to focus on feeling comfortable in her own skin and not worry about what gender she was so much in the absolute nicest way possible. fuckin drama clique ratted me out and from that day on i started questioning things...
@LukeAlmighty that's what i was getting at. this girl was basically like "i look in the mirror and don't know who i am, i feel so uncomfortable in my own skin" and all i suggested was that she try to find a way to feel that comfort, you know? like, try to change your outlook on things and work on bettering your mental health. that's apparently going too far, because these people WANT to be in misery because it gets them more attention, for better or worse.
with the way parents are nowadays especially, they don't give two shits about their kid and i've straight up heard that from adults, especially working during the lockdowns when all the kids had to stay at home. parents would complain about being around their own children, and IN FRONT of them. i've heard parents complain about summer break in the same way too, like "OH I HAVE TO BE WITH MY KIDS, THE HORROR!" that's a recipe for a kid who is starved of attention and will do anything to seek it out, until it becomes a part of their personality/identity.
