@xianc78 i didn't know that, actually. i do know that there are countries that just let anyone use their TLDs though because it generates revenue for them. something along those lines.
@beardalaxy The only TLD I know that is reserved is .gov which can only be used by the US government.
Tokelau (a territory of New Zealand) allows anyone to use their .tk TLD for free, but as a result, it's heavily abused (used in a lot of scam and malware sites). I wouldn't recommend using it. You are better off using a subdomain that your host provides, unless you are really desperate to be more professional.
