@vee kind of reminds me of the switch game installer that has momiji in it

@beardalaxy @vee Also CrystalDiskMark, which is something of a standard in testing windows-based systems' disk performance. He had to release a "dignified" version without any mascot character, I guess for "industrial" cleints, but the original is on his website.
@beardalaxy @vee I mean... Looney-tunes types of mascots are all over open source, why are anime girl mascots treated so weirdly?

A story was going around the chudiverse couple years back that the reason such people hated anime girl mascots is they had "cute aggression," or a complete inability to deal with kawaii stimuli. I think the cartoon ones (some of which you could call "cute" as well) are just ugly enough they can comfortably identify with them, but the over-the-top cuteness of anime is uncomfortable for their limbic system. They see it as a threat.

@diurnalfreak666 @vee people see anime girls and immediately associate them with stinky weebs and japanese degenerates and shit.

same reason games from japan have to be censored but games made in the west can get away with a lot more.

@diurnalfreak666 @vee lol i had no idea about this, i've only ever seen the "professional" one lol that's awesome

@diurnalfreak666 @beardalaxy @vee This is why I’m releasing all future projects under the AGPL (anime girl public license)
