@LukeAlmighty ah, so it is more a symptom of lore rot than anything. i looked into the tree guy and he's in fo1 and fo2 as well apparently which is interesting.
i wonder if anyone has coined that term yet... lore rot. i like it. it describes what has happened to a *lot* of franchises when they have so much lore that they no longer wish to keep track of it anymore, either changing it entirely or going with something much more simple. it might even be a result of too many conflicting voices that want to take things in their own directions. elder scrolls, fallout, zelda, and even fucking star fox are all good examples of this. i'm sure there are many more outside of games too, like star wars.

Not sure what you call it, but it is a sigh of a death for the franchise. These people who change the core of a franchise then wonder, why the new stuff has 0 pull.
