Again, when the BBC reported "realistic" AI porn on Pixiv it wasn't realistic at all. I would know, because I check Pixiv every morning for some steady-state cardio.

@Aldo2 i'm not a pedophile, i like cartoon anime girls that come in all shapes and sizes and i'm pretty comfortable in saying that. i don't know what is so hard to understand, if people like project onto that or something. i like the erotic side of it but i also really, really enjoy the actual art itself too. i love seeing the different way artists draw things and their own unique styles. i like their original characters which can have really cool and otherworldly designs. whether or not antis or pedos say i'm a pedo doesn't change what i think about myself so i don't really care about trying to appeal to one or the other. i'm just doing me and that's how it's been pretty much my whole life, always on the outskirts.

maybe we'll find out more information about the guy in the coming months and actually determine whether or not he had legitimate CP or not because that is what it seems like to me. i don't think most AI videos at this point in time are good enough to be considered realistic so i honestly doubt that was the case. both the article and the official police statement only make mention of AI when it comes to the search of his house.

i have unfortunately seen realistic AI on pixiv. and yeah a lot of people using filters on CP and stuff too. it was in a large enough amount that i stopped using it. idk what the state of it is now.

I can still tell the difference between AI (even realistic AI) and actual stuff. That's not to say that AI isn't getting better, but that there is a difference between the two. I think the distinction is important.

It's like how for a while (and still to this day, I think) weed and heroin were both considered schedule 1 drugs. Funnily enough, Fent is classed as schedule 2 (lower than weed, lol) by the DEA.

My main point is that people have got to stop it with these knee-jerk overemotional reactions to stuff.

They mention "Stable Diffusion" as a prime player. I can't really remember porn from that AI, but I'm sure there were signs that it wasn't "realistic". Things like 4 fingers, or webbed hands/feet etc...

Of course, irony of ironies is that nudist photos of children are apparently fine, even though, you know, they're real children, not AI, and they're, you know, nude. But if it's AI shit, then it's bad, even though it's not real (in at least the vast majority of cases).

stable diffusion is the program used to generate stuff, models are what contain the trained data.

@beardalaxy at least one of those images (left) has the telltale signs of being AI-generated, but I get the point. AI is improving.

Still, it's not real.

We have to maintain that distinction, because if there is no difference between AI and reality, then humanity is fucked. We will no longer be in control.

Might as well just become the Borg at that point.
