In the 3 years of fightgames on Fridays at college (with Smash in the same room) I literally never saw a single woman there.
@arc most of the girls who go to smash tournaments are either there to support their boyfriend/husband, they are part of the staff (usually photography), or they have a booth with merch there. there are girls involved in the scene who do stuff like artwork for tournaments too.
i think the only girl who would be a contender for a top player ever would be supergirlkels. maaaybe milktea but really only in doubles and that was ye olden days.
