@LukeAlmighty i have read the whole bible, back when i was 16-17, but that's not really a good way to do it because it's extremely long and extremely boring. it doesn't work like a normal book either, it's more like a collection of simple stories than a compelling and meticulously crafted narrative. you don't really remember as much or get as much out of it if you just read it. so, the best way to experience the bible is these little stories by themselves with context. in my opinion, at least.
When I was very sick, I could only manage about 1 verse a day. Ended up going through the gospels very slowly in those days. And, I noticed things I've never heard anyone else talk about.
Speed, or rather distance covered, seems to be the enemy of understanding when it comes to the Bible.
