i've always believed that gender dysphoria is a mental health issue, so it should be solved with non-invasive mental health treatments. learning to love yourself as you are and strive to be a better version of that person, rather than trying to force change, is a good lesson for every single person to learn.

if it isn't gender dysphoria then it is a fetish and we shouldn't let children be exposed to fetishes or alter polite and fair society to accommodate for fetishes.

i wish people would see it as a problem to be solved rather than an identity to be celebrated. doing that causes damage to everyone.

this is literally the thing that began my shift away from progressives in high school and got me questioning things i wasn't supposed to question.

@beardalaxy

what your asking, should they get welfare and housing? or be forced to work like the rest of us?

@magicalthinking there is a line between disorder and disability that decides whether someone should be receiving welfare or not. i would assume that far more often than not, gender dysphoria would not prevent someone from working.

@beardalaxy prior to like 2015 we all kinda knew it was a fetish/mental health thing. I remember there was always like one dude who wore a dress walking around town. We all noticed it but it was like meh, whatever, there goes the dude who wears dresses.

No one bothered him, I mean people would stare but it was kinda like "whatever dude".

Then all of a sudden it was like YOU NEED TO RESPEC THEM, GENDER IS FAKE, I IDENTIFY AS A SEXUAL SEA TURTLE and it just went the hell off the rails.

I honestly don't think, prior to the giant woke movement, anyone honestly cared. Like you'd see it occasionally and it was kinda known it was like a gay/homosexual niche thing but it never went any farther than that.

I have no idea, but im glad it seems socially we are getting back on the rails because that was a wild like 8-10 years lol.

@beardalaxy
Weirdly enough, I still believe it might be a mental ilness, since I personally used to suffer from a body dismorphia.

But, that doesn't change, that these people attacked my way of life for over 10 years in the most vicious way possible. I lost childhood, and I will never have a normal life.

So, they made their choice.

@beardalaxy Any responsible medical approach would also involve exploring every reasonable other *alternative* explanation for the symptoms, not just gender dysphoria. All this propaganda about positive affirmation and mindlessly listening and believing everybody who claims to be a tranny (including male rapists wanting to be put in women's prison) has nothing to do with a sane approach to public health.

@beardalaxy I was a heavy metal, goth, and punk rock fan in the 90's and I could never bring myself to do that Rocky horror Picture Show cult bs because I just knew deep down it was just going to be a bunch of kids from broken homes were going to try and make me gay. And that picture of that actor in drag was absolutely repulsive. A few years after that I couldn't watch Hedwig and the Angry Inch because it was just so sad and wrong - my gf at the time was upset but I couldn't sit through it

@nomebullyyou yeah rhps is not something i ever cared about in the slightest. drag in general kind of freaks me the fuck out, like i have a gut reaction to it that pushes me away lol.
