@matrix i mean, people enjoy the steam deck for what it is, right? i think you could sell it for more than $500 and have it be fine. i don't think you're going to get like, a 4k ultra experience on this thing lol, it's definitely meant to target a more console-like experience with the added bonus of it being a PC.
that's just like how the earlier steam machines were, like the alienware alpha. around the same performance as the current consoles, a bit more expensive because it is has all the PC capability.
@beardalaxy Steam Deck isn't really comparable imo because it's portable and also cheaper than the competition.
The Steam Machine doesn't even look underpowered much. Just that 8GB of VRAM is the bare minimum for a AAA game.
