What kind of advice would you give to yourself when you're 16yo ?
In that period if i recall properly I was out of middle school, my father told me that going was a waste of time so he enslaved me to work with him.
Then after some time my mother proposed me to find something I'd like to work in. Computers I said. The few specialized entities that existed denied my scholarship. Then I got work a tech company and worked there for a year and at the end they told me I should seek a diploma.
By pure luck a uni saw my dossier and found my parcour weird and they tested me and graduated 2 years later.

Things went downward after that. So I guess what should be done is refuse the gov work.
Cut ties with father.
And find a job asap.
@beardalaxy
Would you be happy if someone who you did work for past 14 years told you to fuck of and die while you did a job that avoided him loosing his own company and life ?

Would you be happy that the man who promised you to get propane for a very reasonable price while you've been out of propane for the past years to heat water not only stole your money but also the propane tanks ?

Would you be happy that the woman you gave a hand at her house renovation and in the doing your broke your arm and have been struggling to heal for over year, that woman ignores you completely not even a call nor does she say hello when she comes see her grandma that lives in front of your house ?

Would you be happy that your father lost all of your combined work, house etc... because he had to cheat on his wife and you became homeless ?

And I can go on.
It is doubtful it is cyclothymia.
I just have a case of regular bad luck.

@mangeurdenuage I'm talking about what I would tell myself when I was 16, not to you, sorry if it came across like that. I'm glad you're getting help though man. As long as whatever you're doing is working, keep doing it! If it isn't, shake it up a little.

@beardalaxy oh sorry my bad, without further precisions I didn't understood you were speaking about yourself. Thank you.
