I just realized that part of why my roommate might be having a little bit of trouble with movement in ocarina of time is because he's using an Xbox controller and those don't have the physical octagonal gates that N64 and GameCube controllers do. But he's way too stubborn to use one. These zoomers, man.
@pettanko I don't know for sure, but I know a lot of older games kind of rely on those specific joystick positions for things, like walking up slopes at a specific angle and shit. I'm almost certain it wasn't an issue when I've played it with the Nintendo controllers in the past but there are some points where it takes him several minutes to get up a slope.
@pettanko that monkey ball remaster has the same problem, gotta mod it and play with a gamecube controller for it to feel like the original
As for slopes I don't know. I remember having issues with that slope at the end of the Water Temple sometimes, I don't remember if it was a difference between ports or what.
