@merchantHelios absolutely love this one. It just dives right into every 80's action movie trope and doesn't give a shit. I forgot how I found this one, maybe it was recommended to me or maybe it was the "vampire-biting-the-end-of-your-dick meme, but I'm glad I found it.

just watched the first episode of Cyber City Oedo 808, it's not a massively revolutionary anime or anything, but it's very pretty (see picrels) even if the animation isn't the most impressive. The 80s jokiness of the whole criminals-as-crimefighters story is entertaining, if cheesy. There's a not-griffith and a not-gendo already, lol. And the cityscape is obviously akirawank. So clearly influenced by the greats of its time. I look forward to watching some more eps later
