The Sonic movie.
They release a trailer with a hideous Sonic model. There's fan backlash.
In a rare astronomical event, the producers listen to the fans instead of calling them Nazis and telling them the movie is not for them and delay the movie by 3 months, have the SFX studio redo every scene with considerable crunch time to the point the studio ended up closing; and they had already released promotional material including posters and toys which some people managed to get, proving they weren't playing 4D chess the whole time: they really thought that horrendous Sonic model was acceptable.
But in the end they re-released the trailer with a proper Sonic and the movie was successful. And then there was a sequel and it was successful.
And now here we are: Sonic 3 trailer just released and it seems to be the most hype thing to happen to Sonic in recent memory as the movie keeps distancing itself from the "buddy cop" movie it started as and goes deep into actual Sonic lore. This could have been so many movies, but so far I think it's the only one to listen to fans (the Mario movie doesn't count, as that was OK from the beginning).
Now, on the other hand, we have the Minecraft movie (in the works for 10 years, I hear) with Jack Black wearing a teal t-shirt and calling himself Steve, cursed 3D models and a DEI cast.
Somehow I don't think they'll listen to fan backlash; but taking the L like Sonic did could mean the beginning of a successful franchise. Now, I expect at least 3 months of crunch time to fix that hideous Jack Black 3D model and make him skinny.
