I never understood this "it's either this instance or nothing" way of thinkin.The very concept of the fediverse was made to avoid stuff like that. To me it's just fishing for drama.

@overflow i've seen instances like freespeechextremist have people with takes hotter than his and the instance is still there, that would have been a good instance for him.
@overflow ah then THIS instance where i am would be good, because it's one of the few instances where the admin is not a wimp.

@echo yeah but the people i talk about haven't hopped to any other instance and always have been on smug (or at least the majority of their fedi presence). I've been hoping instances since a couple of years (three times this year already) and it's not like i have problems talking to people later because we all use the same network anyways.
Anyways if they get frustrated by that then yeah, maybe they want to rethink their place on here and go back to the centralized model.
@echo that being said, yeah, if i had to leave for some reason this instance where i am now, i would have problems to move to any other instance since i don't find them strong enough on the administration and moderation side. Maybe i would cave in and open my own single instance if that would happen.
