>but you are
I'm not, my argument since the start has been "you cannot call yourself a painter if you do not paint"
Simple as that. You can call you an Artist (visual artist, digital artist, etc) or something like that but pining yourself badges that do not mean what they are i think is dishonest.
And you may argue that painting is not about tools but through the history of art, a PAINTER is always asociated with a set of mediums and tools and techinques related to the denomination. The mediums and tools may change depending on the technique but the skill is the same and it's different than to drawing (drawing, meaning using a tool that is not designed to take into account the medium or the materias you are using when doing a piece of art).
If you think that i'm dismissing digital art because i talk about digital tools helping you, i say that, you may do super good artworks in stuff like clipstudio paint or procreate but then you are asked to do the same thing as a mural on a big wall, what you do? And i'm not saying that an analogic artist is better than a digital one. My point is not about skill or creativity, my point is about a denomination of an artist regarding to different medium that have already been stabilished since the start of the history of art.
