Science experiments show that even dogs and cats get 3 or 4. I just can't understand how adult human beings can even function in life with such a severe mental impairment. Do they just stare at a wall and drool when they're not receiving constant outside stimulus?
What causes them to be that way?
Genetics? Upbringing? God just ran out of souls to fill all the bodies? I haven't a clue.
I hope maybe they think there is a difference between playing a movie behind their eye lids and their minds eye and they're just confused.
Some of them could well just be confused. A lot of people who claim to have no inner monologue and/or can't imagine something in their mind's eye also claim to be able to perfectly recall music, for example. I'm no expert on the human mind, but those seem linked to me.
Yeah, I don't really know how those people think but the inner monologue one I think is definitely true from a lot of accounts I've seen where people say they have no inner voice, just floating images and feelings.

Perhaps, indirectly. It's possible that those people could simply have such degenerated attention spans that they can't focus on any mental task for even a few seconds in order to properly "run the test".

@hideki I have like a 7. Can make a field of apple trees, pick an apple, rotate and inspect it, twist the stem out and drop it on the ground, toss the apple at someone and see it explode, etc. Can't imagine going through life being unable to imagine. Well actually... heh, I CAN imagine that too. 😎

@hideki I see 3 at first thought, but I've realized it's because I'm colorblind and my brain has been programmed to think in terms of shape rather than in color.
