@murabito @xj9 $40 a month for Mastodon (30 VPS+10 storage) and $8.25 for Misskey (7 VPS+1,25 storage)

@matrix @xj9 oof that's more than i have also misskey is cheaper than mastodon?

@murabito @xj9
Yeah, it's lighter, because it doesn't convert files and remote file caching can be turned off

@matrix @xj9 what about pleroma? how does it compare?

@murabito @xj9 Pleroma can be run on a Raspberry Pi, so you can get away with the smalest slice+storage. You have to store the DB in the storage slab though.

@matrix @xj9 how much storage should i get? how much do you think it would cost?

@murabito @xj9 You can start with just 256GB. It's going to last a while.

@matrix @xj9
so the 512 is $2/month and 256gb storage is $1.25/month? i can really get hosting for my own instance for $3.25/month?

@murabito @xj9 Yeah

@matrix @xj9
and if i ordered that would you be so kind as to help me out in setting it up? because i'm incredibly dense and break stuff and need help with stuff⦠:mioohazukashi:

@murabito @xj9 Sure, but I don't know how to configure Pleroma

@matrix @xj9 aslghieolsajvnmoiesz;jf it says out of stock how can it be out of stock?

@murabito
They don't over provision.
The stock gets refilled on the 1st and the 7th.
