ok so who can recommend a good provider for cheap storage? spinning disks and enough cpu and memory to run minio would be ideal.

Yeah, it's lighter, because it doesn't convert files and remote file caching can be turned off

@murabito @xj9 Pleroma can be run on a Raspberry Pi, so you can get away with the smalest slice+storage. You have to store the DB in the storage slab though.
