@ZW748VSJSiwWMBLBct @matrix @xyfdi No, I think you are pretty much on point. The problem with almost every one of the "legacy" centralized services is the fact they are centralized -- and inevitably corrupt.

@shebang @matrix @xyfdi Federated services fix all problems with centralized platforms, because if you don't like it on one, you can just move to another and since everything is federated you don't have to worry about losing a shitload of content.

@ZW748VSJSiwWMBLBct @matrix @xyfdi Yup, honestly at this point I consider anything centralized to be outdated, untrustworthy and ultimately useless. ActivityPub is kind of a mess I hear, but its good enough to replace the legacy systems until something better comes along. Its just a matter of getting that software out there in a useable state, which is no small ask unfortunately.
