@matrix the part about med students is true though, it's crazy how much debt they're saddled with and discourages then from going into lower paying but often more valuable fields

it's all just supply and demand, you can try to intelligently (centrally) control it but that doesn't usually end well

@georgia People will often go for a higher salary even if they don't need it. We have free college yet there's a lot of doctors who go to Germany after finishing their studies because of a higher salary.
