It makes sense for Rudi say baka in his thoughts to emphasize he's a weeaboo, but it looks retarded when Roxy says it

I actually misunderstood this last one. This is actually an accurate translation. I forgot that Mushoku Tensei started as a web series and only got printed later. This is the translator saying the light novel got censored and this is the accurate translation.
I'm sorry, my bad.

@matrix
Why?
That was the entire point of that line...
Why would the author think, that mosaic was the important part of that???

I hate humans.

@LukeAlmighty
Well you can't sell uncensored porn in Japan so it's probably to emphasize he's an ultra coomer and made effort to acquire it uncensored.

@matrix
Extra effort.

Yeah... In the same way, as it's extra effort to click you're 18 when visiting a porn site :omegalul:

@icedquinn @matrix You may sometimes want to leave the honorifics. Both ways are correct and it is largely a matter of taste, as are many things in localization which is a lossy mapping
@galena we have layers of formality too i just didn't see the point in going on about in english the last name is already formal and "mr smith" is super formal and "john" is informal so you would translate the sans by just deleting them
