This one is just painful. He cannot even deny, that lockdowns did happen, so he just choses the most extreve mersion, that did in fact fail, and ignores all that did happen. 
@LukeAlmighty He was quite against the lockdowns when they were going on.
He might be giving a bit extreme positions but both of them very popular with a significant chunk of the right.

Yes. And I remember, that our government outright came out saying, that they did want to make the vax mandatory, but didn't only because the percentage of population protesting was way too big.

It's just stupid to see the extreme event that did happen, and use it as an example of negative, because it just didn't go far enough.
@LukeAlmighty The reason he uses it as an example is because many people were unnecessarily pessimistic in their predictions. The line of reasoning between "let's lockdown temporarily" to "let's make it permanent" wasn't well articulated.

There is also a big difference between 2 weeks and 2 years.
The power grab was real. Yes, we can absolutely debate about the "true motivation", but to say that nothing happened is just wrong.
@LukeAlmighty SFO never claimed that nothing ever happened. He just thinks it was a misguided effort that went poorly, not motivated by power.
And I would say I agree too.
I think that it was perceived as a power grab because politicians had to balance perception that they are doing something and trying to not completely screw up the economy, which led to the creation of quite retarded rules.
