"They stole the election, so we must vote to stop them" is the MAGA version of "Trump is a fascist, let's vote to stop him from genociding the browns"

@matrix

I wouldn't be surprised if they made that the actual result, laughed in our faces, and rhetorically asked "what are you gonna do about it?"

@spacemanspiff That's retarded. They were pissing, shitting and cumming because a bunch of hicks broke some windows of the Capitol

@matrix

because they could make political hay out of it.

none of that changed the result. once they poison the well with the phony ballots, there's no getting them out.

@spacemanspiff The American voting system is pretty unsecure from my perspective, but the courts found nothing substantial that would change the results. Unlike with Gore who still had cases pending when the electoral college votes were cast and retrospectively should have probably been the president.

@matrix

the courts found nothing in 2024 because they declined to look at evidence.

arguments involving mathematical near-impossibilities were also ignored, despite being admissible in most other contexts.

instead we were told anomalies were due to covid, and one team's ground game just being THAT good.

now these lax practices get approved by the people put in power by the very same practices. they cheat every time. having a month makes it easier. there were not 155m voters in 2020.

I think we should withhold judgement on election integrity until after we've seen a serious motivated investigator take a stab at it.

Let them offer Palentir $50,000 per conviction and then see we'll if there was any fraud.

@cjd @matrix

do you truly believe that people "reside" in 3-inch wide boxes at atlanta-area mailboxes etc. locations? in casinos? at their parents' house in a swing state because the FiOS bill is in their name?

if they'll launder donations through unsuspecting normies, they'll fill out ballots for unsuspecting normies. I watched this happen in one of america's largest cities in 2004 - people "voted" on their neighbors' behalf. I just wasn't engaged or resourceful enough to stop it.

@cjd @matrix

it's not a matter of whether they CAN steal it. it's a matter of whether they're willing to do it for Harris, are willing to stick their neck out far enough if the real margin is greater, think it's better for them long-term to regroup for a push in 2028 after 5 more shampeachments, etc.

@spacemanspiff
When courts refuse to see a lawsuit it's usually because it's very obvious nonsense or was filled incompetently.
Covid is a pretty good explanation for many of the anomalies, but even people around Trump didn't believe he won. He had such a turnaround of personal during the last few months of his presidency simply because they didn't buy that he won.

@matrix

so the anomalies I'm referring to could mostly be described as state and national bellwethers. again, it's PLAUSIBLE that the 2020 election was just so different, but raises an eyebrow.

do you disagree that tens of millions of ballots were unauthenticated garbage handled by interested parties, made "legal" without the required legislative approval?

the courts didn't get involved because they're terrified to do so. merit, to whatever degree it varied from case to case, didn't mater.

@matrix

if you want to split hairs over the media influence/rigging, and whether people actually marked biden on a piece of paper, sure, we can do that.

but even if all 155 million votes were real (no) and valid (HAHAHAHA), generally speaking, every additional "voter" is one that is less engaged and less informed than the one before him or her.

imagine being the party that knows getting more ballots from the ignorant favors your "team."

@matrix

several recounts by gore-friendly newspapers failed to even conclude that he would have won florida.

but you touch on another important point - there's time between election and certification, but not so much that the "winning" party can't run out the clock. for a government employee to stall/stonewall you nine weeks over any sort of record is child's play. add in the holidays and it's indistinguishable from their usual incompetence.

@spacemanspiff Gore was a Democrat. Why couldn't the democratic party rig that election like they supposedly did for Trump? Gore ran on saving the planet, is there a better justification for election rigging than that?

@matrix

so I want to be careful to not straw-man you here, but just because a republican has won an election from time to time doesn't mean they're above board. further, their ability to both do it, and to get away with it, has increased over time with their institutional capture and polarization of the public.

I'm in a "battleground" state, one that gets a LOT of attention. an acquaintance of mine is working the polls. he would gladly cheat, and probably will in some way.

Al Gore and his wife are literally that unpopular and insufferable. I'd rather the planet melt than be in the same state as that guy.

Tipper Gore ... the original censorship queen from the 80's but no one I know seems to remember this whatsoever at all?!
Anyone.. anyone Bueller... Bueller?

@mangeurdenuage Probably the Libertarians, but the two party system of the US is a separate issue from people thinking the election was stolen

@matrix
>is a separate issue from people thinking the election was stolen
We have a similar issue with the last presidential elections, except we did not protest, maybe we should have idk.
You can ask anyone in the street and they'll wonder how Macron got voted in again as nobody you can ask will say you that they voted for him.

@mangeurdenuage Did you actually ask complete randos or are you making an assumption about how 18 million out of 56 million adults felt based on a single/low double digit sample of people you know?

@mangeurdenuage The question is, how random your selection actually was? Even just the time of day massively changes the composition of people you meet and if Macron did something controversial since the election, people will just lie if they don't trust you enough

@matrix
(also, this post happens every election, it's dummy data for testing all the graphics packages)

@r000t @matrix so it's more like they are expecting/projecting Harris to win and making graphics for it, and then accidentally broadcasting the graphic? That makes sense, I have made graphics in that way before for streams of tournaments. I've always just tested them offline though, never had one slip through the cracks, and I'm not even a professional.

@beardalaxy
If the post in question reflected a Trump win, what would be your explanation for the early display? Would it suddenly become a mistaken test, or would it still be proof of a rigging?
@matrix

@beardalaxy
To clarify, they need to test with *some* data, and part of the package is it telling you who the projected winner is. So you can't really set both candidates to 4,206,969 to make it painfully obvious it's a test.
@matrix

@r000t @matrix if it were saying it was a trump win I would probably be very confused but wouldn't immediately jump to rigging, for several reasons. Goes to show just how much of a joke this country and the media are though tbh.

Still that is good knowledge though so thanks

@beardalaxy
Personally, if I was running the station, I'd change out the *names* during testing.

Literally have Testy McTestface the Democrat and Resty McRestface the Republican with 1,111,111 votes vs 2,222,222 votes.
