Wtf is happening? Is my computer killing SSDs?

I unplugged and plug it back and it's working now. wtf

@matrix@gameliberty.club I'm no expert in Windows, but it does look like it.

Do you know which process is making all these writes?

@dead_man That's just launching RSI Launcher. It's not a software issue. I had two SSDs die like a week ago.

@matrix@gameliberty.club weird. You might wanna look into this a bit further

@matrix@gameliberty.club do you have a genuine copy of Windows? If so, you might be able to call Microsoft support about this and ask them about it

@dead_man
I do have a $5 one from a key reseller.
I don't think it's a software issue. My NVME boot drive is fine, my HDDs are fine too. I can’t find anything in the Windows event logs

@matrix
Seems the be a problem of too many "y"
Computers don't like that.

@matrix Yes, windows is known for destroying SDD's with constant 100% usage.

The only solution is to install GNU/Linux-libre.
@matrix Are you running a game with Denuvo?
Do you have search indexing enabled in Windows?

@camedei456 No. Search indexing is on, but that's not the issue. That 100% is due to the SSD not responding, not because it's being used heavily.

@matrix That might be one reason that your SSD is dead if search indexing is activated.
I usually disable that myself since EVERYTHING is indexed by that service and I don't need the file search that much.

@camedei456 Boot NVME SSD is 5 year old and fine. SSDs that died and got replaced with this one were 2 and 7 years old. This one died after 8 days. You can't kill an SSD with usage that quickly. One would assume it's the PSU or the SATA ports, but all my SATA HDDs are fine.

@matrix DoA. I wonder how SMART looks like.

@matrix
I don't speak whatever foreign terrorist language that is
